I've got itchy feet.
Big time.
And while a post-'marathon' trip to Paris is on the cards, it's not enough!
Two of my friends and I are researching the possibility of a mini road trip in the U S of A.
A few days in New York, get a car (convertible, natch) and head down to Washington DC.
Obviously we'll stop off at a roadside diner, where, when we walk in,
all the punters will gawp and say "you folks aren't from 'round here".
Our car will probably break down and we'll have to stay in a
dodgy motel with a sinister manager... you know, just the usual stuff.
I'm having fun just reading the guidebooks (I love the travel section in bookshops) and
already have loads of places to eat/drink/shop/see bookmarked.
The museums in Washington sound incredible, and maybe
B&M will extend an invitation for dinner Chez Obama?
One can dream.
And of course New York.
Often planning a holiday can be as much fun as the trip itself...
Whenever I say 'Washington DC", this song comes into my head.
