I'm off to the west for a belated Mother's Day holiday with, surprise, my Mum!
It's a really pretty part of this lovely Isle with some of the best beaches in the country, but unfortunately there seems to have been a mix up with the weather and it's been lashing rain all day. I'd planned to rent a bike and cycle along the Atlantic coast, but I'll have to see what the weathers up to before I hope on a bicicletta.

It's so funny, despite the fact that we live in a country that is synonymous with rain,
the whole country seems to think it's
acceptable to come to a standstill when there's a few showers.
'Ah, I'm late 'cus of the rain' or 'Sorry, I'll have to cancel - it's raining' are all viable excuses here.

Anyway, here's what I'll most likely be packing.
The Irish summer wardrobe is about covering all eventualities.

Mine, money no object, wouldn't be complete without the following:
Factor 50 (a necessity for my pale skin),
Wellies - hunters natch, umbrella,
and the newest member to the Mulberry family.
It's so cute!

So guess what!? One of my new friends whom I met last week is on a 2-month sabbatical/vacation in NYC, and he's from Ireland! I've been learning lots about the country -- and his city (he's from Galway). Made me think of you!

Enjoy your trip with your mum :)

Ah Galway's a really cool city, and in a beautiful part of the country too!
