Tentatively dipping my toe in the blogger pool again...
with my week in food.

homemade lemonade. cheddar. sourdough. ham.

disgustingly healthy juices.

shoestring fries. ricotta chicken wings.

'american' pancakes. berries.

so bad it's good.

I never got to see LCD Soundsystem live...this looks incredible. And his dog!

I did see James Murphy djing in Paris once... My friend and I were lucky enough to have a (very drunken) chat with him after his set and he seems like a lovely guy. That he has such a gorgeous dog just confirms it.

More soon.
Happy New Year!

16 October, 2011

I'm going to Paris in less than two weeks (crutches or no crutches!) and have been drooling over everything on the city of lights.
I saw Midnight in Paris last week and it was divine. I think I need to see it again and actually pay attention to the plot this time, I was just gazing at the beautiful scenery in the background.

Here's the opening credits:

I won't lie when I say my heart hurt a little bit watching this film, but I shall see my lovely city so soon!

on a somewhat related note, I've been trawling through this amazing blog.

Behold, some lovely pics from (I think) the most recent PFW.

Currently incapacitated after falling down the stairs. My leg is in a cast (for at least a week) and I feel like Jimmy Stewart in Rear Window.

Cabin fever is already beginning to set in, and it's only day one.

I'm not an especially active person but I don't like the idea of being confined to the couch for 6 days. And the thought of not being able to cook (my only relaxation method) is killing me!

I've got some work I need to catch up on and lots of TV to watch.

And I just started reading this:

I think I've got enough to keep me occupied, but would greatly appreciate any cures for boredom?

Merci mes amies!

a lesson, of sorts, in british pop:

Obviously there was the Spice Girls.

Then Girls Aloud came on the scene, tanned within an inch of their little lives

A few years later they started releasing solo stuff, this recent one being a gem
(in my opinion)

And The Saturdays 'took over' the girl band crown with dance tunes like this new one.
LOVE.

two of the girls (guess which ones if you don't already know) started life in S Club Juniors. Who were a baby version of...

...yep, S Club (formerly S Club 7)!
Best. Song. Ever.

Wasn't that a fun way to spend the past... 2 mins if you read/15ish if you watched the videos?

12 August, 2011

It's my birthday next week.
I'm not mad on b'days,
but I'm going to London to 'celebrate' the occasion.

My wishlist, in case you were wondering:

Weekend in New York, or a week. Whichever.

One of these badboys, the Mulberry Carter. It's the new Alexa.
(Miss Chung, I still love you)

My Blackberry died a week ago so an iPhone would be nice.

These Acne Pistols for the Autumn

And this lovely dress.
(Which I totally just bought!)

09 August, 2011

It's all going down in lovely London at the moment. As always, the good will overcome the bad and cleanups are being organised across the city. I'll be there next weekend... hopefully the end of this reckless behaviour is in sight.

08 August, 2011

Behold a photo that has nothing to do with music, but these look delightful!
One day I'll make s'mores/smore inspired biscuits.

I rarely pick ice-cream as a dessert when I'm dining out. Unless it's artisan, I feel cheated paying for someone else to scoop from a tub that I could buy myself.
I don't use the word lightly, when I say I'm obsessed with ice-cream.
A few summers ago when I was in Greece, a friend had to ration my money such was my ice-cream problem. It was so hot (40ยบ+) and it was the only thing I could (and would) eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
It's impossible to pick my favourite flavour. I love chocolate. Mint is refreshing. Violet and Rose when in France. Phish Food is comforting. 99's equal summer.
My latest obsession is Sea Salt ice cream. Do it.
The best thing that ever happened to me*, was when I was staying in Boston about 8 years ago. There was a Ben & Jerry's scoop shop in the hotel. I was in heaven. Sure, we have B&J's here in Ireland but we only have a fifth of the flavours available in the states.

These four beauties are on my 'to try' list when I next go across the pond.

The Late Night Snack one has fudge covered potato chips. Oh America, while I worry about your obesity epidemic, I can't but love a country with an appetite for the ridiculous.
Thinking about making Oreo cupcakes.

I came across this recipe and I think I'll try it out this weekend. Or maybe I can make 50 tonight and ship them over to Washington DC for Barack's 50th? I'm sure he'd like that.
