16 October, 2011

Currently incapacitated after falling down the stairs. My leg is in a cast (for at least a week) and I feel like Jimmy Stewart in Rear Window.

Cabin fever is already beginning to set in, and it's only day one.

I'm not an especially active person but I don't like the idea of being confined to the couch for 6 days. And the thought of not being able to cook (my only relaxation method) is killing me!

I've got some work I need to catch up on and lots of TV to watch.

And I just started reading this:

I think I've got enough to keep me occupied, but would greatly appreciate any cures for boredom?

Merci mes amies!

14 July, 2011

To celebrate La Bastille, I give you Jacques Brel.

What a voice.
(I know, he's Belgian. But sssh.)

I've been celebrating the 14th by talking in French to anyone who will listen.
It's fun, try it some time.
And tonight, while I'd like to be dining on Steak Frites in a little bouchon in the 5éme,
I'll be at the midnight screening of Harry Potter. It'll be bittersweet, but I can't wait.

And I may be wearing a customised tee for the occasion. And there's a possibility I'll be wearing Ravenclaw colours...
EXCITEMENT!

Happy 14th however you are, or aren't, celebrating it!

Poor aul blog, I've been neglecting you.
And for no good reason.
I'd love to be able to say my life is crazy busy and I've got lots of important projects etc. etc.,
but the truth is I can't think of things to blog about (or when I do, I forget about them a few hours later. My memory is so bad. Seriously. Last week I was meant to go to a talk by Josh Foer on his new book on memory, but I forgot about it. You couldn't make it up).

So, for the moment, I'll leave you with (yet another) video...

Paul Simon tickets go on sale this Friday. I want to go, if only for this song. You see, one of my many nicknames is Al. I don't really like it, but if people mention this song, then I forgive it.
Way I see it, if you sing this song then, You can call me Al.
...Sorry.
I've been listening to 80's cheese lately, including this beaut by Julian Lennon.

More 'exciting' stuff to come...

18 March, 2011

I'm feeling so uninspired at the moment.

But here are six great (inspiring even?) things:

1. The Strokes' new album is out (in Ireland) today!

2. Not usually a fan of flash mobs, but this one is genius. Not to mention patriotic.

3. Karlie Kloss and Jourdan Dunn on the same cover of i-D? Yes please. (I could never be on i-D because, among other reasons, I can't wink)

4. I just signed up for the Mini-Marathon! Training starts... tomorrow.

5. Isn't she lovely? Mrs. O dressed up for Paddy's Day festivities.

6. Enfin, tomorrow it's the big match and I can't wait for Ireland to (hopefully) beat England at their own game. Go on the Boys in Green!

And this song is on repeat these days:

31 January, 2011

Back from a whirlwind weekend in London. I spent 48 hours drinking, eating, dancing and talking. Soooo good. And exactly what I needed (apart from sleeping in this morning and almost missing my flight!).
Of course I forgot my camera so thanks to my blackberry this is my only photo from the weekend

Encapsulates London, doesn't it?!

Besides checking the usual blogs/news sites/email when I come back from somewhere, I always check the Apple site for new film trailers! And this looks so good.
Mélanie Laurent, Ewan McGregor, Captain Von Trapp AND a cute dog?
Essential ingredients for the perfect film if you ask me!

21 January, 2011

I need to get on the 'hobbies' train.

I'm thinking Knitting

Or a book club

Or am I just being an aul one?

Or I could take up testing wine, country by country.
That sounds like a fun one.

23 October, 2010

No better way to start the weekend than with a walk up the lovely Killiney Hill.
Of course it helps that the weather was nice and sunny.

Some pics courtesy of my mobile: (you can click to get a better look)

Dublin can be pretty when it wants to be.

06 October, 2010

Oh, I just realised that I've had this blog for just over a year.
Hopefully I'll continue posting all sorts of random things for at least the year to come!

And, thank-you to you if you've ever visited my little page!

30 September, 2010

I'm back from Canada and so very tired.

Enamoured of Montréal with its French feel and obsessed with Torontos ethnicity,
my two week trip has left me wanting more.

It still felt like summer when I left Dublin, and now I can see it slowly turning
towards Autumn. Which means one thing and one thing only, Autumn Wardrobe!

Having an early night tonight and hoping my dreams will be full of fall fashion...
and my new obsession (thanks Canada), bubble tea!

Oh and listening to the lovely Stars.

This song feels strangely Autumnal.

It's the little things...

It's lashing rain outside,
I'm inside,
sitting on my bed,
reading June Vogue,
and eating peanut butter & banana on toast.

14 April, 2010

Back in Ireland, with a heavy heart... and a heavy stomach!

I haven't been on the internet in two weeks, so relaxing. Although the backlog kind of defeats the purpose. I feel like I am going to be browsing through post/emails/facebook etc for the whole evening.

A photo post to come!
