This is lovely, but it hurts my heart.
Googling flights as I type.
À bientôt Paris!

It's like a virtual bulletin board, and it's addictive.
Every month I go through my hard drive to delete (ridiculous)
folders of images I've saved for one reason or another.
So this is perfect for me!

I've been listening to Christmas music 24/7 since the beginning of December. But one album that's slipped through my festive music only rule is 'The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III)' by Janelle Monáe. And it's only bleedin' amazing!
I'm a little late to the Miss Monáe party, but better late than never. If you haven't come across her, then chances are someone you know will have. The Guardian just named her debut the best album of 2010 and it came 12th of Pitchfork's Top 50.
Listen here for yourself:
Tightrope
Faster
She's amazing! And, to quote The Guardian 'There is no point trying to pigeonhole this album – just sit back and enjoy'. DO it!

This album is such a gem.

If you've never listened to The Magnetic Fields, you're missing out. Big time.
And now there's a documentary on the genius behind it all, Stephin Merrit.
Click here if you want to listen to their best (in my opinion) song.
Too many links?
Whatever, it's Friday!

As much as I'd love a pug, I don't think I could handle their respiratory systems.
They're cute (and soooooo fat) to look at, but all that snorting? No thank you.

Valentino has a nice little collection of pugs

So if you're ever in Salzburg and you've got a few hours to kill, oh and you're a HUGE Sound Of Music fan, well then you should do the Maria Bike Tour!!
We were going to do the coach tour that everyone does but we'd rented bikes from our hostel for the day so it made more sense to do the bike tour. Also, do Maria and the children get on a coach in the film? No! They do, however, cycle around the beautiful Salzburg!
It was seriously one of the best days of my life. We cycled past all the main points from the film and then out to the countryside with The Alps in the background. There was one point when the guide gave us little mp3 players with the soundtrack! So we listened to them as we cycled through a massive meadow. I just about burst with happiness. And of course I've got loads of photos that I can't show you right now because my feckin' Mac is full!

As sad as I am that it's currently pissing rain
outside (IN THE MIDDLE OF MAY), tonight I'll be
staying in and watching movies (yay!). I got
Brideshead Revisted (2008 film) in the post today.
I refused to see it in the cinema, but I added it
to my ScreenClick list (hoping that I'd never
actually get it), and now the time has come!
Now, I love Matthew Goode...

But my heart will always belong to Jeremy Irons'
Charles Ryder (that voice!)

If you haven't read this book - READ IT.
And then watch the 8-part mini series.
(I'm pretty sure the whole thing is on Youtube)
You will thank me for it, I promise

I love Nico.
And I love Margot Tenenbaum.
And I completely forgot that 'These Days' was in this film... incroyable
Another good 'un of hers.

Aaaaahhh. I feel like all I talk about these days is music. But at the moment (Vampire Weekend, Magnetic Fields, Florence- okay her album came out last year but I am listening to it, ALOT!), it's too good not be mentioned.
The new Beach House album came out on Friday and it is INCREDIBLE! I only found out the girl is French a few days ago, this makes me love them more.
Fave from the album (Teen Dream) so far is this beauty:
Zebra
Unrelated but I cannot stop making curries.
Thai Green/Red
Korma
Biryani
Chickpea
Squash
ANYTHING that sounds like it might make a nice curry, I use it.
I am obsessed with Coconut milk, it's the stuff of Gods!
I was thinking about giving it up for a month but the thought leaves me cold! Maybe something easier, like chocolate?! I hate food addictions.

Counting down the hours to the release of the new Magnetic Fields album! This band are definitely in my top 5 and are responsible for two (ONE & TWO) of my favourite songs. Staying up until midnight to download the album (that obsessed) and having just read this review, I think my obsession is justified!

La vita è bella
My new favourite film
I've seen this twice since 2010 hit us and I can't shake it. The music is especially moving. I couldn't describe it to a friend without shedding a tear!
WATCH IT if you have not yet done so.
Incentive: It's €3.99 in HMV (cheaper in UK I'm presuming) and it can't be too much in North America, so invest!

What could be better than McDreamy... Nothing right?
(Two pictures is unnecessary but his hair)
WRONG.
European McDreamy. The beautiful French Guillaume Canet is a dead ringer for Mr Dempsey.

AND, he's going out with (engaged to?) Marion Cottillard.
He used to be married to Diane Kruger. Beautiful People.

Last night I watched this documentary on the election of Obama
and I have a new love, Jon Favreau.
He is Obama's 28 year old (!!!) speechwriter.
I read this back in June but had since forgotten about him.
An amazing man, working for an amazing man! The documentary is really good too.
